Hotlines for Taxi Calling Service Opened in Weifang

On April 6, journalists learned from Municipal Transportation Management Office that Weifang has opened the hotlines for taxi calling service so that the citizens can dial 2965555 to enjoy the service. So far the taxi GPS management platform can cover more than 1800 taxies in urban area, while the total of 2,116 taxies in urban area of Weifang will be furnished with the system in the near future.

It is reported that service hotline calls are charged at the same rate as local calls and the taxi charge matches up with the normal taxi fee. The operators will offer the license plate number of the taxi nearby and the phone number of the driver, and then the citizen and the driver can communicate by phone. The management platform can inform the taxi driver to get to the nearby passengers, once received the call on the hotline. It only takes several minutes to take on a taxi if a citizen dials the hotline for ordering.
