From November 12 to 15, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government held the 2024 on-site progress meeting for key green, low-carbon, and high-quality development projects in the city. The event aimed to fully implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his visit to Shandong, while earnestly carrying out the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. The focus was on the goal of "taking the leading to be a mainstay", with an emphasis on advancing green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. Through on-site inspections of key projects, the meeting assessed the effectiveness of current efforts, shared experiences, and inspired further action at all levels to strengthen project implementation, attract investment, and drive development. This final push in the fourth quarter aims to ensure the high-level completion of the city's annual development goals and tasks. Liu Yun, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Liu Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Li Aijie, Chairman of the Weifang Municipal Committee of CPPCC; Gao Feng, Director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee; and Guo Fei, Deputy Secretary of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee, attended the event. Members of the municipal leadership team, as well as key officials from all counties, cities, districts, municipal development zones, and relevant municipal departments, were also present.

In early winter, Weifang is alive with activity, as construction cranes rise on numerous sites and machines hum with energy. Projects are taking root and flourishing, production lines are running at full capacity, and a wave of entrepreneurship is sweeping through the city, all contributing to a vibrant atmosphere of high-quality development. Over the course of four days, the meeting coordinated key projects across various counties, cities, districts, as well as the Weifang High-tech Industrial Development Zone and Binhai District. For days, participants visited industrial parks, workshops, and construction sites, gaining a firsthand understanding of project development, business operations, product research and development, and market prospects. As they toured the sites, listened, and engaged in discussions, what stood out the most was the robust support, characterized by both quality and scale, the remarkable industrial transformation, and the upward momentum driving the city toward new heights. The most striking impression was the surge of energy powered by innovation and technological advancement, alongside the strong passion and determination to work hard and compete. Participants expressed their commitment to maintaining a spirit of optimism and resilience in overcoming challenges, focusing on key objectives, making concerted efforts to excel, ensuring the successful implementation of major projects, and accumulating new momentum for high-quality development. In doing so, they aim to contribute to the building of a better Weifang, demonstrating new responsibilities and achievements.

At the summary and evaluation meeting held on the afternoon of November 15, Liu Yun delivered a speech. He emphasized that since the beginning of this year, the city has withstood pressures from various sources, overcome numerous challenges, and achieved remarkable results across all areas of work. The successes in project construction have fully showcased the broad vision of party members, cadres, and entrepreneurs, their strong sense of responsibility and courage, as well as their commitment to innovation and breakthrough. Liu stated that the entire city must uphold the principle of "projects as the top priority", making projects the key driver of development. Development tasks and goals should be translated into specific projects. Efforts must be made to enhance the planning, attraction, implementation, and service quality of projects in order to inject strong momentum into accelerating high-quality development.

Liu Yun emphasized that projects represent today's investment, tomorrow's output, and future growth. We must make every effort to accelerate progress, focus on key projects at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, and implement targeted measures. Every effort should be made to push forward proposed projects, accelerate ongoing projects, and ensure that newly operational projects deliver results and increase revenue. This will improve the quality and speed of project construction, thereby driving economic growth. We must do everything possible to attract and promote projects, innovate strategies, align attraction efforts with the right focus, and improve the quality and efficiency of project implementation. Multiple approaches should be employed to introduce large and promising projects, and to accelerate the development of new growth drivers. We need to plan carefully and expand reserves with scientific precision. We must stay aligned with policy directions, capitalize on industrial advantages, target emerging sectors, and plan a series of major projects that will leverage strengths, seize opportunities, and lead development. These projects will help develop new productive forces, providing strong support for high-quality development. We should work in unison to enhance services and strengthen support, improve service guarantees, optimize the supply of resources, foster a strong work ethic, take concrete actions, and seek tangible results, accelerating the achievement of new milestones in project construction.

When chairing the meeting, Liu Jianjun emphasized the importance of thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of this meeting, learning from one another, complementing strengths and addressing weaknesses, and making practical contributions to the city's high-quality development. He said, we must ensure a strong finish to the year's work, strengthen the coordination of economic operations, prioritize addressing key issues related to people's livelihoods, and resolutely meet the annual targets. We must also plan carefully for next year's work, seize major opportunities, strengthen upward connections, and develop clear objectives and plans, striving to secure additional support. Furthermore, we must effectively focus on safety development, refine and implement various preventive measures, and ensure rigorous attention to production safety, food and drug safety, campus security, environmental protection, forest fire prevention, and responses to extreme weather.

The meeting also outlined and assigned tasks for key areas, including economic operations, comprehensive assessments, safety and stability, livelihood security, and planning for next year's work. Heads of some key enterprises and presidents of non-local chambers of commerce in Weifang were invited to attend the summary and evaluation meeting.
