On the morning of September 19, the 2025 Weifang International Kite Festival & Weifang Kite Carnival Press Conference was held in Beijing. Former Vice Minister of Culture Wang Wenzhang; Guo Yicong, professor and doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and member of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History; Rong Shuqin, Secretary of the Sub-Party Leadership Group, Resident Vice Chairman, and Secretary-General of the China Folk Literature and Art Association; Guo Liqun, Director and General Manager of China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd.; Ji Weimin, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China Social Sciences Press; as well as leaders from the Xinhua News & Information Service Center and the Social Sports Guidance Center of the General Administration of Sport of China attended the event. Liu Yun, Secretary of the CPC Weifang Municipal Committee, delivered a speech. Municipal leaders Yang Jianhua and Di Bo, diplomats from the embassies of Indonesia, Venezuela, Zambia, the Bahamas, Moldova, and North Macedonia in China, along with more than 20 overseas media outlets and over 10 domestic media outlets, also participated in the event.

The 2025 Weifang Kite Carnival Autumn Series highlights four dimensions of competition, culture, health and trade, and will run from late September to late October, including more than 20 events such as a kite-flying celebration marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the 2025 New Year Painting Heritage and Development Conference, the 2025 Weifang Marathon, and Weifang 2025 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival.
