Chen Jieqi (1813-1884), courtesy name Shouqing and known as Fuzhai, was a famous epigraphy specialist from Weixian Town (now Weicheng District). He was the son of Chen Guanjun, Minister of Personnel in Qing Dynasty. He was diligent and eager to learn all kinds of ancient cultural books and records, especially collecting and studying epigraphy. He wrote over ten works including Seal Studies in Treasure House and Survey on Ink Pad, as well as Fuzhai’s Bamboo Slips Inscription, which contains valuable academic resources. His personal cultural objects and works provide reliable evidence for later generations to conduct historic, cultural and art research.
