Zhao Mingcheng (1081-1129), courtesy name Defu, was a famous epigraphy specialist from Zhucheng. His father, Zhao Tingzhi, was appointed Prime Minister twice. His mother Guo was from Yidu, Qingzhou. The Zhaos resided in Qingzhou Town. Zhao Mingcheng studied at Imperial Academy in his early years and attributed himself in studying epigraphy works in his adulthood. After he married Li Qingzhao, the couple lived in Qingzhou for over ten years. During that time, Li Qingzhao created a lot of literary works; with the help of Li, Zhao finished the first draft of Epigraphy Collections.
