Improve Pedestrian Crossing Facilities to Improve Traffic Efficiency

In order to promote the replacement off old growth drivers with new ones in our city, it is planned to build pedestrian overpasses at the Municipal People's Hospital and Jialejia on Xinhua Road to alleviate road congestion during peak hours, facilitate mass travel, ensure pedestrian safety and convenience, and improve traffic efficiency.

1. Establish special working group

A special working group was established, with Cui Huadong, deputy director of the Bureau Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Weifang, as the group leader, Mu Chungang, section chief of the Urban Construction Section, and Xu Guoqiang, deputy director of the Municipal Engineering Construction Department, as the deputy group leaders.

2. Work in progress

Firstly, is to take the lead in formulating design plans. The Weifang Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute had been determined to be the design unit for the overpass of the Municipal People’s Hospital, and the design plan was formulated and was confirmed in October 2018. Secondly, is to carry out demonstration work. A site survey was organized on February 12, and a meeting was held on February 13 to study the feasibility of the construction of the Jialejia overpass on Xinhua Road. Thirdly, is to report for instructions. On February 21, related issues on the Construction of Xinhua Road Jialejia Cross-street Overpass were reported to the Municipal Key Project Office of Urban Construction.

In the next step, we will accelerate the development of the planning and construction drawing design for the overpass of the Jialejia on Xinhua Road, and complete the tender as soon as possible for the construction of the overpass for the Municipal People’s Hospital.
