"Weifang Kite, Friendship Messenger" Activity Shocks Wuhu City

On March 29, after a tour passing by Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and some other cities, the delegation of the "Weifang Kite, Friendship Messenger" activity arrived at Wu Hu, Anhui, and was invited to perform kite-flying at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Anhui Kite-Flying Competition & Wuhu Kite Culture Festival. On the site of the opening ceremony, the kite experts and craftsmen hang colorful kites with different shapes, and photos displaying Weifang's culture, tourism and city image on two special reserved walls. These two walls, like two exhibition boards displaying the kites, culture and tourism of Weifang, attracted many people to appreciate.

At the beginning of the kite-flying performance, the kite experts skillfully flew the 80 meters long dragon-headed centipede into the high sky. Then, the 100 meters long, dual-thread controlled, all-green, snake-shaped soft kite was flown, which was so vivid that it looks like a live green snake floating in the blue sky. In addition to the large dragon-headed centipede kite and several soft kites, some other kites were also flown in the sky, making an extremely beautiful and colorful picture and winning numerous applause of the audience. Many Wuhu people were surprised by the elaborate kites and amazing flying effects. The principal of Anhui Kite Federation said, "The kite and kite-flying skill of Weifang are of world's top class. This is a rare opportunity for us to appreciate and learn from the kite-flying performance." Some local media describe the kite-flying performance shows the "charm of the world top kite-flying skill".
