Liu Jianjun Inspects Shandong Bohai Bay Port Group, Municipal Postal Administration, and Weifang Maritime Safety Administration

On August 2, 2024, Liu Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Weifang, inspected Shandong Bohai Bay Port Group, the Municipal Postal Administration, and the Weifang Maritime Safety Administration. Official Zhou Jun participated in related activities.

At the Shandong Bohai Bay Port Group, Liu Jianjun visited the Corporate Culture Exhibition Hall to gain a deeper understanding of the Bohai Bay Port Group's reform process, operational management, business expansion, "zero-carbon port development" and the integrated development of the port, industry and city. He pointed out that promoting high-quality development and building a better Weifang at a faster pace cannot be accomplished without the crucial support of the port. Weifang Port is a National First-Class Open Port and an important regional port in Shandong Province, which has long made positive contributions to the high-quality development of the local economy. He expressed hope that the Bohai Bay Port Group will fully leverage its resource advantages and accelerate the creation of a new pattern of integrated development of the port, industry, and city. Weifang City will continue to support the port's development and strive to make greater contributions to building a leading hub for modern marine economy development in the entire province.

At the Municipal Postal Administration, Liu Jianjun visited the Weifang Postal Industry Command and Dispatch Center to gain a comprehensive understanding of the transit center layout, city-level outlet distribution, postal industry safety supervision, postal warehousing and logistics, and collection and delivery business volume. Liu Jianjun emphasized that the postal industry is closely tied to public welfare and economic development. It is essential to improve the urban and rural delivery logistics system, enhancing postal convenience services with dedication and effort. He stressed the importance of maintaining safety standards to ensure the security and smooth operation of postal delivery channels, thereby safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the public. Furthermore, he called for strengthening industry regulatory functions to promote the sustainable and sound development of the postal industry, providing robust support for economic and social development.

At the Weifang Maritime Safety Administration, Liu Jianjun visited the Crew Management Innovation Studio and the Ship Traffic Management Center to gain a comprehensive understanding of crew vocational education, crew management innovation, maritime traffic safety, and the maritime sector's contributions to economic development. Liu Jianjun pointed out that the Weifang Maritime Safety Administration holds the crucial responsibility of ensuring maritime traffic safety. Continuous efforts should be made to enhance technological innovation and management capabilities, improve the maritime traffic monitoring system, and create a safer, smoother, and more efficient maritime traffic environment. He also emphasized the need to continuously improve service levels and emergency response capabilities to make greater contributions to water traffic safety and the prosperity of marine undertakings.
