Liu Yun Meets with South African Business Delegation

On the morning of October 20, Liu Yun, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, met with the South African business delegation led by Dion van Wyk, Director and Market Consultant of South African Shuofeng Group. Sun Xiaodong, Honorary President of the Southern Africa China Entrepreneurs Association and Chairman of South African Shuofeng Group; Li Guodong, President of the Southern Africa China Entrepreneurs Association and Chairman of South African Xinyuan Group; and Lyu Shanshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, were in attendance.

Liu Yun, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and gave a brief overview of Weifang's economic and social development. He noted that under the major opportunities brought by the advancement of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, Weifang and South Africa have maintained close cooperation with fruitful outcomes, and South Africa has become one of Weifang's most important trading partners in Africa. Liu Yun expressed the hope that this visit will serve as a catalyst to further deepen cooperation in areas such as industry, finance, trade, and energy resources, and yield more tangible results. He expressed sincere expectations that guests will choose Weifang as a partner, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with local enterprises, and work together to contribute more to building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.

Dion van Wyk expressed appreciation for Weifang's warm reception. He remarked that South Africa and Weifang share a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation. He looks forward to taking this visit as a new starting point to deepen pragmatic cooperation on a larger scale, across wider areas, and at deeper levels, further building a bridge for industrial collaboration and driving continued success in bilateral cooperation.
