Citywide Symposium on Financial Empowerment for Rural Revitalization Held
Liu Jianjun Attends and Addresses the Event

On September 12, the citywide symposium on financial empowerment for rural revitalization was held in the comprehensive office building of the municipal government. Liu Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Weifang, attended and delivered a speech. Lyu Shanshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, presided over the meeting.

Liu Jianjun emphasized that rural revitalization cannot be achieved without financial empowerment. At present, Weifang is at a critical stage in building a pilot zone for the Qilu model of rural revitalization. All relevant departments at all levels should thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on work related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, as well as on financial work, earnestly carry out the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and follow the requirements of the provincial party committee and government. He called for continuously improving the rural financial service system, channeling more financial resources into rural revitalization, and accelerating the development of a strong agricultural city. He stressed the need to make effective use of idle rural resources through market-oriented approaches, improve the agricultural insurance system, support various entities in expanding and strengthening their operations, explore new approaches to opening up agricultural development, and promote the sound growth of the agricultural industry. It is also important to establish a mechanism for inter-departmental coordination, strengthen overall planning and policy support, step up publicity and promotion efforts, and create a favorable environment for financial institutions to carry out financing services. Financial institutions should shoulder their responsibilities, continuously innovate products, optimize services, and more accurately and efficiently meet financing needs related to agriculture, contributing greater financial strength to advancing comprehensive rural revitalization.

At the meeting, the progress of financial empowerment in advancing rural revitalization was reported. Relevant municipal departments, some counties and districts, financial institutions, and enterprises shared their views and experiences.
