August 25 marked the ninth National Disability Prevention Day. That morning, the Ninth Shandong Disability Prevention Day and Weifang's Themed Event on the Integrated Development of Rehabilitation for Exceptional Children took place at the Xingyuan Children's Care Center in Weifang. Attendees included Liu Yun, Secretary of the CPC Weifang Municipal Committee, Zhang Yan, Deputy Director of the National Autism Rehabilitation Research Center, and Vice Mayor Zhou Jun.

At the event, participants toured the outdoor nature therapy area, watched an instrumental performance by the "Starlight" band and a disability prevention promotional video, and presented well-wishing gifts to the children. Afterwards, Liu Yun visited the center's AI classroom, sensory integration training room, traditional Chinese medicine treatment room, psychological counseling room, and music therapy room. He engaged warmly with the staff to learn in detail about their professional team, infrastructure, curriculum design, and rehabilitation therapies, and also enjoyed the handicrafts and homemade food prepared by the students. He emphasized the need to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements on the development of undertakings for persons with disabilities and to earnestly practice the concept of full life-cycle disability prevention. He called for a strong focus on disability prevention and rehabilitation services, barrier-free infrastructure, social assistance for persons with disabilities, and disability protection. He urged greater care for children with autism, active integration of social resources, continuous improvement of the service network, stronger public education, and extensive public welfare activities to foster a favorable social atmosphere for the high-quality development of undertakings for persons with disabilities.
