Liu Jianjun Presides Over the Executive Meeting of the Municipal Government

On August 20, Liu Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Weifang, presided over the 86th executive meeting of the Weifang Municipal Government. The meeting heard reports on the work safety for the second quarter of 2025 from each county, city, district, various development zones, and members of the Municipal Safety Committee. It also reviewed the audit results of the 2024 municipal budget implementation and other fiscal revenues and expenditures, and studied the implementation of the Weifang Municipal Historical and Cultural City Protection Regulations.

The meeting pointed out that with high temperatures coinciding with the flood season, safety precautions must not be relaxed for a moment. All levels and relevant departments must thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on work safety, remain constantly vigilant, strengthen and implement work responsibilities, carry out detailed measures, and effectively safeguard the lives and property of the people and maintain overall social stability. The meeting also stressed focusing on key areas and locations, strengthening the inspection and rectification of potential safety hazards, enhancing safety training for all enterprise employees, and coordinating measures to prevent extreme weather-related incidents, floods, and drowning.

The meeting emphasized that comprehensively performing auditing and supervision in accordance with the law is an important government duty. It is necessary to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on auditing work, fully utilize the role of auditing, and ensure high-quality economic and social development through high-level auditing supervision.

The meeting emphasized the need to actively explore new models, such as the transformation of industrial heritage and the revitalization of historic buildings, accelerate the development of new business models, strengthen publicity and protection efforts, and ensure that historical and cultural heritage remains vibrant and benefits the public. Human, physical, and technological measures should be comprehensively applied to improve the protection of famous historical and cultural cities, cultural districts, and historic buildings. In accordance with the arrangements of the Regulations, supporting implementation policies should be refined, grid-based management should be strengthened, and it should be ensured that each heritage site has a responsible person and that management is effective.
