27th National Photography Art Exhibition & 1st Weifang International Photography Week Kick Off

On September 27th, on the occasion of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, the 27th National Photographic Art Exhibition & the 1st Yi-Pin-Jing-Zhi Cup Weifang International Photography Week grandly opened in Weifang. This is the first time that a national photography art exhibition settled in Shandong and held in Weifang.

Li Qianguang, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and member of party group, vice chairman, and secretary of the Secretariat of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, announced the opening of the exhibition. Guan Zhiou, standing member of Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Director of Shandong Publicity Department, and Song Mingchang, former member of party group of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television attended the opening ceremony. Hui Xin'an, secretary of Weifang Municipal Party Committee and director of Standing Committee of Weifang Municipal People’s Congress; Li Ge, chairman of China Photographers Association; and Wang Shinong, secretary of the party group and vice chairman of Shandong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, delivered speeches respectively. Che Baojie, standing member of Weifang Municipal Party Committee and director of Publicity Department presided over the ceremony. Municipal leaders Liu Jianguo and Zhang Xinqiang attended.

In his speech, Hui Xin’an first expressed his warm congratulations on the grand opening of the photographic art exhibition on behalf of the municipal party committee and the municipal government, and expressed sincere welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the leaders, guests, photographic artists and media reporters who came to Weifang. After briefly introducing the development of photography in Weifang, he said that Weifang has profound cultural heritage, beautiful natural environment, rich tourism resources, and vivid practice of reform and innovation, providing rich materials for photography artists and photography enthusiasts to create. Alongside with the 27th National Photography Art Exhibition, the 1st Weifang International Photography Week is initiated, which focuses on cultivating and building new local cultural brands, and will surely have a profound impact on promoting the development of photography art exhibition industry and enhancing the brand value and cultural influence of Weifang. We sincerely invite photographers to record and spread the beauty of the city, the development, and the change of Weifang through the lens in hand, so that more people will know more about Weifang, pay attention to Weifang, support Weifang, and walk into Weifang. We will do our best to guarantee the service of the exhibition, and strive to make this exhibition an art event that spreads ideas, deepens exchanges, expands cooperation, and promotes development.

It is informed that the National Photography Art Exhibition and the 1st Weifang International Photography Week, with the theme of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, are divided into two major sections: the National Photography Art Exhibition and the 1st Weifang International Photography Week Theme Exhibition. The National Photography Art Exhibition includes two sub-exhibitions: the 27th National Photography Art Exhibition and the 60-year Retrospective of Excellent Works of the National Photography Art Exhibition. The 1st Weifang International Photography Week Theme Exhibition includes 3 theme exhibitions, namely, International Exhibition, Domestic Exhibition, and Weifang Exhibition, and 11 sub-theme exhibitions. The exhibition will be closed on October 6th.

At the opening ceremony, honorary certificates were awarded to the participating authors and members of outstanding organizations of the National Photography Art Exhibition, and a plaque of "Hometown of Photography in China" was awarded to Weifang. Before and after the opening ceremony, the leaders and guests visited the photography exhibition area together.
