Weifang Celebrates 70th National Day with Cultural and Tourism Activities

On the days of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the cultural and tourism departments of Weifang have meticulously planned and organized "Shandong People Tour in Shandong" series activities in forms of paintings and calligraphy exhibitions, photography exhibitions, keynote speech contests, cultural performances, etc., as well as cultural promotion season activity, for people to express sense of patriotism, and to vividly show the brilliant achievements of New China in the past 70 years.

 Beautiful Scenery, Unlimited Charm

Weifang actively promoted the integration of culture and tourism, and organized the "National Day Golden Week" cultural tourism series of activities. A total of 46 activities have been launched in counties, county-level cities and districts as well as towns, sub-districts and tourist attractions of Weifang.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, the 19th China (Qingzhou) Flower Expo Trade Fair & the 13th Shandong Flower Fair opened in the Flower Capital of Qingzhou. With the theme of "Beautiful China, Colorful Qingzhou", the Flower Expo of this year focused on the rural revitalization strategy and displayed the development achievements of the flower industry in Qingzhou, the whole province and the whole country.

After enjoying the flowers and characteristic culture in Qingzhou, tourists could go to Shimenfang of Linqu to see the red leaves. Shimenfang is located in the west of Linqu county, and is characterized by the natural forest of Sumac and the original ecological rural scenery unique to the "Chinese Persimmon Township".

In addition to the beautiful natural scenery, various playgrounds have also prepared for children colorful activities including sea lion and animal performances in Weifang Jinbao Amusement Park; performances of animal such as dolphins and parrots in Shouguang Polar Ocean World; fruit and vegetable picking, shrimp and crab catching activities in Linhai Ecological Expo Garden; produces picking festival at Changshan Yonghui Ecological Farm in Zhucheng. The Chinese Kid-Dreamcatcher activity was held in Weifang Library.

Looking back on History, Forge ahead

Past experiences guide for the future. While we are enjoying the good life today, we must not forget the revolutionaries. To this end, Zhucheng has built the core area of the Jinmei Red Cultural Tourism Town and a national party spirit education park based on Wang Jinmei's former residence and surrounding areas, and reshaped ten tourist attractions.

During the 70 years of history, Weifang's social economy has developed rapidly, urban and rural areas have changed with each passing day, and cultural construction has constantly improved. Weifang Art Museum held the photography exhibition New China · New Weifang to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Brilliant Integration of Culture and Tourism

During the National Day holiday, intangible cultural heritage carnival was held in Shihuyuan Cultural Block. This event focuses on the spread and display of intangible cultural heritage, and creates activity brands for inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage through diversified performances, displays, exhibitions and sales such as gourmet snacks, specialty products, intangible cultural heritage experience, cooking performances, art performances, rural and agricultural products exhibition and sales, cultural and creative product promotion.

Eating farm meals, living in farm houses, doing farm work, and enjoying farm stays have become a highlight of holiday tourism. The Dalu Pear and Date Festival in Buzhuang town, Changyi city; the 5th Grape Culture Festival in Kanjia town, Gaomi city; Colorful Pastoral, Happy Harvest picking festival at Yonghui Ecological Farm in Zhucheng, grape picking tour at Anshanghu and National Day country tour at Xiangshuiyazi in Changle county; fruit and vegetable picking festival at Yuquanwa in Fangzi district, and Linhai Picking Festival in Shouguang and other activities are very popular.

In order to enrich the cultural activities of citizens during the National Day holiday and promote patriotism, Weifang Library launched a series of activities of "Knowledge Tour in National Day Holiday".

Introduce the Old, Bring forth the New 

During the National Day holiday this year, in addition to traditional cultural and entertainment activities, departments at all levels of Weifang focused on the hot spots of public concern and launched a series of characteristic activities in the form of "Internet +".

The 2019 Qilu Wine Land Dream Hot Air Balloon Tourism Festival & Internet Celebrity Light and Shadow Music Festival were held in Anqiu city; the "Take on the Eye of Bohai Sea, Praise the Beauty of the Motherland" Douyin contest was held in Binhai zone.

Realing Dream in Qingzhou Micro-Film Competition was held in Qingzhou city. The "Tell Qingzhou Stories · Celebrate 70th Anniversary of Motherland" famous masters gathering activities were also held to showcase the beautiful natural scenery,  time-honored history and brilliant culture of Qingzhou, and to explore the thousand-year-old charm of Haidai Culture.
