1,000-Plus Performances with 1 Million Audience--"2008 Culture Summer" Closed

September 21 saw a night of carnival on the Municipal People's Square. The "2008 Weifang Culture Summer" closing performance was held here, marking the end of the three-month-long event.

The performance unveiled at 7pm and harvested warm applauses with a stream of gorgeous performances. The"Culture Summer" has been held in Weifang for eight consecutive years, providing citizens with rich and colorful performances and playing an important role in enriching the citizens' cultural life and spreading the advanced culture. It has become a famous brand of cultural activities in Weifang.

This year's "Culture Summer"activities started in July and lasted for three months with performances focusing on the Beijing Olympics and citizen ideological and moral education.

Preliminary statistics show that over 1,000 performances have been held in the city with more than 1 million audiences.
