Weifang Kite Competition to be Held at Fuyanshan International Kite Flying Field on April 13

The annual "Weifang Kite Competition" is a traditionally important event of the Weifang International Kite Festival, which represents the highest level of Weifang kite-making innovation and kite flying competition. Recently, a mobilization meeting was held in Weifang to continuously improve the innovation ability of kite-making.

This year, the 36th Weifang International Kite Festival is scheduled to open on April 20th at the main venue—Kite Flying Field of Joy Sea, a green space covers an area of 718 mu of land, in Binhai Zone. A total of 28 activities were arranged in three categories, including 14 thematic activities, 4 cultural and sports activities, and 10 economic and trade activities, 6 other activities.

The "Weifang Kite Competition" will be held, one week ahead of schedule, at the Weifang Fuyanshan International Kite Flying Field on April 13 (Saturday), with the competition period of 3 days.

Innovation is the eternal theme of the festivals. The vitality of the kite festival lies in continuous and constant innovation. Innovation in kite-making is the primary task of a successful kite festival. The mobilization meeting requires all relevant units to continuously improve the innovation level of kite-making, and create more good kites with colorful themes, lively content, beautiful shapes and amazing works, to form a unique kite culture in Weifang, promote the prosperity and development of folk art, as well as the integration and upgrade of cultural undertakings and cultural industries in Weifang.

The meeting requested that all relevant units and people must earnestly summarize the experience and practices of previous years of kite-making innovation, inherit and promote traditional techniques, create and lead an atmosphere of innovation, highlight innovative elements and strive to improve the level of innovation in kite-making.
