The 6th Cross-straits Kite Culture Exchange Activities & the 10th Yangjiabu Kite and New Year Pictures Art Festival Opens

 At 10 o’clock of morning of April 21^st, the 6^th Cross-straits Kite Cultural Exchange Activities & the 10^th Yangjiabu Kite and New Year Pictures Art Festival opened in Yangjiabu Folk Arts Daguanyuan. Li Shiguang, deputy director of Municipal Standing Committee declared the opening of activities. Fan Liqing, deputy director of the Department of Information of Taiwan Affairs Office and news spokesman, and Chen Xin, deputy director of the Department of Exchange of Taiwan Affairs Office, as well as Man Guoqiang, counselor of Municipal Political Consultative Conference, together with other officials attended the opening ceremony.

As an important activity of Weifang International Kite Festival and a parallel session of Weifang Culture and Art Trade Fair, the 6th Cross-straits Kite Cultural Exchange Activities & the 10th Yangjiabu Kite and New Year Pictures Art Festival extends from April 21st to 23rd. With the theme of “Promoting Folk Art, Displaying Folk Customs, Serving Cultural Tourism, and Enhancing Interaction of Cross-straits”, a series of activities are launched during the festival, which includesinvitational exhibition of works of famous calligraphers all over China, Weifang new year picture exhibition of historical stories, exhibition of fine works of Weifang top hundred cultural and creative design contest, pictorial post exhibition of customs over hundred years, display of fancy stones, cross–straits interschool interaction and so on.
