Shandong High-Standard Opening-Up Investment Attraction Meeting Held in Weifang

On the morning of October 29, the "Integration of Party Building with Business, and Integration of Central and Local Development" meeting was held in Weifang to promote high-quality investment attraction in Shandong's high-standard opening-up. The meeting focused on deeply studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on Party building, emphasizing the leading role of Party building, promoting in-depth cooperation between central and local governments, and supporting high-standard opening-up for high-quality investment attraction, to inject dynamic vigor into the advancement of Shandong's chapter in the Chinese path to modernization.

Song Junji, Vice Governor of Shandong; Zhang Jing'an, Chairman of the China Science and Technology System Reform Research Association, former member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Secretary of the General Secretariat; Gao Ligang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China General Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd.; Zhang Zuqiang, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the China Meteorological Administration; and Zhang Min, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the China Earthquake Administration attended the opening ceremony and the keynote meeting. Liu Yun, Secretary of Municipal Party Committee gave a keynote speech. Liu Yuan, Deputy Secretary in charge of the daily work of the Party Working Committee of departments directly under the provincial Party committee presided over the meeting. Leaders from national relevant ministries and commissions, headquarters and branches of central enterprises, central enterprises stationed in Shandong, provincial departments, and units were present, along with Mayor Liu Jianjun, also Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, and Guo Fei, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee. City leaders Yang Shengyan, Zhao Xuchun, Mao Xiufeng, and Ju Junhai participated in relevant activities.

In his speech, Song Junji stated that in recent years, Shandong has continuously strengthened its cooperative connection with central enterprises, optimized support for central enterprises stationed in Shandong, and an increasing number of central enterprises have established a presence in Shandong, forming a good situation of common development between central and local cooperation. He said, looking to the future, we are committed to leveraging Shandong's strengths and the capabilities of central enterprises. We will continuously strengthen Party building, explore innovative cooperation models between central and local governments, and expand areas of cooperation. Together, we aim to create win-win results in promoting industrial upgrades, driving innovative development, enhancing infrastructure capacity, and facilitating green transition, thereby jointly composing a new chapter of high-level cooperation. Zhang Jing'an stated in his speech that Weifang has a solid agricultural foundation, strong innovation-driven momentum, and robust overall strength, with significant achievements in various undertakings. This event aims to promote the integration of party building with business, and the integration of central and local development, facilitating high-quality investment attraction in Shandong high-standard opening-up. Zhang Min said in her speech that the China Earthquake Administration has always supported Shandong's economic and social high-quality development and high-level safety. This year, it signed a new round of strategic cooperation agreements with the Shandong provincial government to conduct in-depth cooperation in areas such as risk prevention against major earthquakes and disasters and comprehensive disaster reduction capabilities. She said, we are willing to continually deepen strategic cooperation with Shandong Province and Weifang City, striving to achieve high-quality development and high-level safety through positive interactions, jointly create higher-level cooperative demonstration projects, plan higher-quality cooperation content, and realize higher-standard cooperative development, making new and greater contributions to ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, and promoting economic and social development.

At the meeting, Teng Shuangxing, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, introduced the industrial policies of Shandong Province. Heads of the Yellow River Shandong Bureau, Shandong Provincial Meteorological Bureau, State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company, and SPIC Shandong Energy shared insights on leveraging the leading role of party building, promoting the integration of party building with business, facilitating the integration of central and local development, and supporting Shandong's economic and social development. The Weifang Municipal People's Government signed strategic cooperation agreements with several central units stationed in Shandong, financial institutions, central enterprises, and state-owned enterprises. Additionally, relevant municipal entities in Weifang signed project cooperation agreements with various central enterprises.

The event was hosted by the Party Working Committee of departments directly under the provincial Party committee, the Weifang Municipal Party Committee, and the Weifang Municipal People's Government. On the same day, a special session took place to advance the development of new quality productive forces through technological innovation and to showcase Weifang's green and low-carbon initiatives.
