Weifang Government and CITIC Bank Qingdao Branch Partner to Empower Local Development

On the afternoon of August 15, 2024, the strategic cooperation between Weifang Municipal People's Government and China CITIC Bank Qingdao Branch and the "CITIC United Fleet in Weifang" empowering Weifang's economic and social high-quality development matchmaking meeting was held in Fuhua International Conference Center. Wang Tong, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China CITIC Bank Qingdao Branch and Liu Yun, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Liu Yun attended and addressed the event, with Xiao Haifeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CITIC Securities (Shandong) Co., Ltd. and Yang Shengyan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Weifang Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Weifang City, in attendance.

In his speech, Wang Tong stated that Weifang boasts a robust manufacturing base, distinctive agricultural features, rich cultural heritage, strong growth momentum, and vast market potential. CITIC Bank will continue to view Weifang as a key base and growth engine for its operations and development. Leveraging the group's powerful platform of "full financial licenses and comprehensive industrial coverage", it will harness the synergies of the "CITIC Group United Fleet" to provide comprehensive, diversified services, supporting Weifang's high-quality development.

In his speech, Liu Yun stated that CITIC Group, as a large state-owned comprehensive multinational enterprise integrating both finance and industry, has made outstanding contributions to supporting local development, serving the real economy, and maintaining financial stability, exemplifying the responsibility of a major state-owned enterprise. Currently, Weifang is thoroughly studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Shandong. We are committed to taking the lead to be a mainstay in high-quality development, building a better Weifang with strong strength, high quality and beautiful living environment at a faster pace. Liu Yun expressed the hope that CITIC Group will continue to expand its business in Weifang, increase credit offerings, innovate financial services, and bring in more funds, projects, and resources to provide more financial resources for Weifang. Weifang will offer full support to foster win-win cooperation and achieve high-quality development through mutual empowerment.

At the meeting, the Weifang Municipal People's Government signed strategic cooperation agreements with CITIC Bank Qingdao Branch and CITIC Securities (Shandong) Co., Ltd. Relevant departments, units, and key enterprises in Weifang also signed agreements with several entities of CITIC Group. Before the meeting, Liu Yun met with the attending guests.
