Brief introduction of Maternity Department

The total staff now is 66, seven of whom with senior professional titles, and those professionals with intermediate title are 16. There are three delivery rooms, for example, Room 1, Room 2 and Room 3. This department has 90 beds, including the kind of cozy, comfort and full-equipped single rooms and economical and practical double rooms or triple rooms. The amount of childbirth is 3000 per year. It is the first hospital in Weifang city that can carry out the operations of childbirth without pain after anaesthesia and breathing Nitrous Oxide for pain relief with no post-operative complication. This department can carry out different kinds of cesarean section and vagina difficult delivery. It has successfully treated patients with complication and has got general approval of society.

Brief introduction of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department

There are 35beds and 38 staff members. This department has carried out hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy for the treatment (ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, uterine septum, hysteromyoma, ovarian tumor, infertility etc). It has introduced advanced equipment from abroad and set up the first fertility centre of Weifang since the end of 2000. At present, it has carried out the first and second baby produced by in vitro fertilization, artificial fertilization and embryos cryopreservation etc. And there have been several cases of successful test-tube babies and artificial fertilization. In March 2002, the first test-tube baby was born in this hospital.

Brief introduction of Department of pediatrics

This department has got advanced medical facilities. Its outpatient clinics and number of patients are in the first place of Weifang, with 62beds and about 40 medical staff members, among whom 8 professionals have got high-level titles, five with mediate titles. They can be capable to make diagnosises and give treatments of children's common, refractory and critically illnesses. Its pediatric neurosurgery (cerebral palsy, epilepsy), asthma, Pediatric Emergency, neonatal screening and angiocarpy etc advocate something unique, which is a key department in our hospital.

Brief introduction of Neonatal Department

It is the unique neonatal department in our city, with 20beds, and advanced neonatal multifunction monitors, insulation can, blue-ray therapeutic apparatus, transfer pump, far IR rescue operating-table and life-support machines etc. So far, this department has cured about 1700  cases of children patients with VLBW, severe asphyxia in newborn, neonatal aspiration of meconium，anoxic ischemic encephalopathy and icterus gravis neonatorum etc.

It has succeeded in saving a VLBW baby patient which was a case of 28-week pregnancy and weight of 1.2 kilogram. This child now is 2 years old and grows normally. At present, our department has made preferable economic and social benefit.

Brief introduction of Medical Department

There are 31 beds, 4 chief physicians, 2 attending doctors and 4 nurses in charge. It is equipped with FGS(fiber gastroscopes), fibro-colonoscope, heart monitors, defibrillators, Dynamic electrocardiogram, automatic stomach irrigators etc. The department has successfully saved many patients with acute myocardial infarction, coronary heart diseases, hypertensive encephalopathy, severe myocarditis heart failure, pulmonary heart diseases, diabetes, graves, acute nephritis, and different kinds of acute poisoning from medicines and poisons. Wang Qingtu, the famous expert in liver diseases, has a deep understanding in making diagnosis and giving treatments of liver diseases and other digestive diseases. He is popular in Shandong province and gained generally praise of the society.

Brief introduction of Surgical Department

This department now opens general surgery, pediatrics, extrathoracic and uirology surgery. It has approximately 12,000 cases of patients annually and over thousands of different surgical procedures per year. Up to now, this department has succeeded in doing operations on pancreaticoduodenal veins, radicaloperationforcarcinomaofstomach, total gastrectomy, radical treatment of breast cancer, three-incision-vitrectomy radical treatment of esophageal cancer, lower resection and anastomosis of rectum cancer, prostate cancer cure, protless endoscopic radial cystectomy etc. The pediatric surgery is its major field. And it has done many difficult operations of cases, such as duodenal atresia, malrotation of intestine, higher rectal atresia, complicated perineal fistula etc, and has carried out infancy hepatapostema, pyothorax drainage by tube after paracentesis. Its block therapy of congential muscular acute torticollis, operations on indirect infancy inguinal hernia undescended testis, and childhood vena spermatica highligation have avoided long-term complicating diseases. Among them, congenitalmegacolon ISoave radical cure  and its congenitalhypospadias I plasty have already been both domestic and international leaders in these fields.
